Reaching out to kids in our neighborhood
After School Program
The After School Program supports children at Longridge School who are referred by teachers and school counselors because of social and/or academic need. Volunteers help the children read and do their homework. During this program the children have an hour of academic learning, snack, recreational time including a craft or game, computer time and/or outside activity depending on the weather. This program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30pm to 6pm. The children come two days a week either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. The Program follows the Greece Central School District calendar
Cultural Arts Program
The Cultural Arts Program is a new program at Two Doors that offers children culturally enriching experiences that are rooted in educational learning. Each Friday the program has a consultant who comes to teach the children about their area of expertise. This program encourages hands on learning on subject areas that may not necessarily be taught in schools. We are giving the children a chance to participate in activities that they otherwise may not have the opportunity to do. Some of the events are first aid and CPR, art gallery docent, seeing eye dog, the culinary arts, drama, and we also have two planned field trips to the Genesee Country Museum, and the Rochester Public Library.
