Volunteer

Volunteers are a crucial part of all Two Doors Programs. Whether you have a few hours a month or several hours a week, we can put your skills to work helping our community.

Become a Tutor

Increase a child’s interest in learning by becoming a tutor in our After School Homework Assistance Program. Work with one or two students to support their mastery of reading and math. Play educational games and serve as a role model of good manners, respect and positive attitudes.

Many of our volunteers are retired school teachers, education students from area colleges, and high school students from Greece Central Schools, and retirees from Kodak and Xerox Corporation. Volunteer opportunities are available from 3:30pm – 6:00pm Monday – Thursday and in our Cultural Arts Program each Friday afternoon from 3:30 – 5:30pm.

Cultural Arts Presenter

Do you have a talent in art, crafts or have knowledge on a topic you would like to share with our youth? Each Friday is a special day at Two Doors. Whether you would like to lead a program or simply help with the students, you will find Cultural Arts Days are full of fun. We are also in need of regular Cultural Arts volunteers to assist students with projects.

Family Night Volunteer

Volunteers help prepare a delicious, nutritious meal for all our students and families once a month around a special theme. Come cook and serve in the comradely of our volunteers. Dinners are held in the Fellowship Hall of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Board Leadership – Program Planning, Fund raising and Policy Development

Our Board of Directors offers those with administrative, policy development and fund raising interests to use their talents to ensure our organization operates professionally and meets the needs of our neighborhood by offering programs that are responsive to the changing needs of Greece residents. Board members find their service personally rewarding and often gives them an opportunity to make valuable connections in the community. Members attend monthly meetings, and participate in several special events and activities a year.

Red Wings Concession Stand - Summer

Join us for an evening for fun at the Home Plate Concession Stand for a Red Wings Baseball game.  Pick one or more games to help us serve food and beverages.  Must be 16 or older to work in the booth.  Catch a little of the end of the baseball game and fireworks after we are done.  Go to What's New on our website and then click on Special Events for dates and details.

Panera Bread

Each Thursday evening Panera Bread Company on West Ridge Road donates end of day baked goods to Two Doors for our families. Volunteers help by picking up donations and bagging the baked goods each Friday morning so they can be distributed in the afternoon. This is a fun way to meet new people while you help serve families with economic hardships.

Mailings

Our Two Doors newsletter is mailed every other month to nearly 500 individuals and businesses. Preparing these and other direct mailings is vital to communicate our good work to the community. No heavy lifting is involved, and volunteers can chat while they work.
